Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 July 2026
This policy explains how Quanta Source Ltd collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit quanta-source.com, submit a list of excess components, or contact us. It applies to our website and to enquiries made through it.

Who we are

Quanta Source Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are registered in England & Wales, company number 17356050, with our registered office at 66 Paul St, London, EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration reference ZC208079 — you can view our registration certificate. For any question about this policy or your data, contact hello@quanta-source.com.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you and to trade:
Information you give us. Your company name, contact name, work email address, telephone number, any notes you write, and the contents of any component list or document you upload or email to us.
Correspondence. Emails and messages exchanged with our commercial team, including quotations and related records.
Technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability purposes.
Your choice comes first
Nothing optional is stored on your device unless you accept it. We use one piece of essential storage to remember your cookie choice; analytics and advertising cookies are only ever set after you have given consent, and you can withdraw it at any time. Fonts, graphics and animation code are served from our own website. The underlying site framework is loaded from a public code library (unpkg.com), which receives your IP address when a page loads.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your data to value and respond to your submission, to prepare quotations, to source parts you ask us to find, to arrange collection or delivery, and to keep proper business records. Our lawful bases are legitimate interests (responding to business-to-business enquiries and operating our trading business), performance of a contract where we go on to trade with you, and legal obligation where we must retain records for tax and accounting.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects, and we do not send marketing emails to people who have not asked to hear from us.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or syndicate your data, and we do not list your inventory on third-party marketplaces without your consent. We do rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
Vercel Inc. — website hosting and server logs.
Resend — delivery of form submissions to our email inbox.
unpkg.com — a public code library that serves the site framework, and which receives your IP address when a page loads.
Logistics and professional partners — carriers, freight forwarders, accountants and advisers, where necessary to complete a transaction or meet a legal duty.

International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States, and we have offices in Hong Kong, mainland China and Australia. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Cookies and similar technologies

When you first visit, we ask whether you are happy for us to use optional cookies. Until you accept, none are set.
Essential storage. A single entry recording your cookie choice, so we do not ask again on every page. This is necessary for the site to respect your preference and cannot be switched off.
Analytics and advertising cookies (optional). If you accept, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site, and Google Ads to measure the performance of our campaigns. These set cookies on your device and share data with Google LLC. Google acts as our processor for analytics and, for advertising, as an independent controller in respect of its own purposes.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page, or by clearing your browser storage for this site. Withdrawing consent stops further optional cookies being set; it does not delete data already collected, which you can ask us to address using the contact details above.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and submission data for up to 24 months from our last contact with you, after which it is deleted. Where we have traded with you, we retain transaction records for six years to meet UK tax and accounting requirements.

How we protect it

All traffic to this website is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Access to submissions is limited to the members of our team who need it in order to respond, and lists are treated as commercially confidential. We are happy to work under a non-disclosure agreement from first contact.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to ask us to transfer it to another provider. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@quanta-source.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to resolve it with you first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be communicated directly where we hold your contact details.
